Work Continues on $1.7 Billion 635 East Project

635 East - Ways to Stay Connected Graphic_360x250

As part of the $1.7 billion 635 East project to widen and improve Interstate 635 and areas near the Interstate 30 interchange, various lanes along both directions of I-635 in Garland and along I-30 near the interchange are closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. through the morning of Monday, Oct. 11. 

Other work from the 635 East project includes:

  • Various lanes of southbound Shiloh Road are closed at I-635 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 10. Various lanes of Shiloh in both directions are closed at I-635 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Friday, Oct. 8.
  • The entrance to westbound I-635 at Garland Avenue is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Friday, Oct. 8. 
  • Centerville Road will be closed in both directions at I-635 from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, and from 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, to 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8. Two left lanes of the westbound I-635 frontage road approaching Centerville Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, and from 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, to 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8.
  • The right lane of westbound Miller Road will be closed at I-635 from 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6.
  • In Dallas, all lanes of the westbound I-635 frontage road will be closed between Forest Lane and the exit ramp to Greenville Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Tuesday, Oct. 5, to the morning of Friday, Oct. 8.

Other work involving the freeway interchange in Mesquite:

  • The connector ramp from southbound I-635 to eastbound I-30 is closed from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. through the morning of Friday, Oct. 8.
  • The connector ramp from westbound I-30 to southbound I-635 is closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Friday, Oct. 8.
  • The connector ramp from eastbound I-30 to northbound I-635 will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5; from 10 p .m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, to 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7; from 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, to 4:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8; and from 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, to 4:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11.
  • The entrance to southbound I-635 at Oates Drive is closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Friday, Oct. 8. 

The exit from eastbound Interstate 635 to Northwest Highway is closed to facilitate bridge and ramp construction. The shutdown is expected to last two or three years.  

The HOV/Express managed toll lanes on I-635 between Oates Drive and TI Boulevard also remain closed until the project is completed. The rebuilt tolled managed lanes will have shoulders and be separated from the main lanes by concrete barriers.
