Help us wipe out e-waste! Empty out those junk drawers, closets and boxes in the garage of old electronics, and bring them to the Residential Recycling Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st 2021.
Bring anything that uses batteries or that has a plug (including cords and wires) as well as a maximum of 2 bankers box sized boxes full of paper for shredding per household.
Proof of Garland residency required.
Items accepted include:
Computers & computer supplies, including wires and cords
- Game consoles, speakers, microphones, walkie talkies, radios & video players
- Cell phones, printers, scanners, fax machines, telephones & routers
- Wires, cables, extension cords & chargers
- Floppy disks & cassette tapes
- Please do not bring lightbulbs of any kind, string lights, or single-use batteries.

UPDATE: THE MAY 10 MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED. The purpose of the Library Board is to advise the City Council on problems relating to the Public Library and to recommend plans and programs to promote the library system for the city. The Board approves library policies, long range plans, and other pertinent documents as they are recommended by the Director of Libraries.
The Library Board normally meets on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Due the need for social distancing, this meeting will be conducted online using Zoom. All meetings are open to the public unless the Board goes into executive session. Meeting agendas and approved minutes are posted on the library website for citizen review.

Teens ages 13 to 17 can make a difference in their community by joining the Garland Library Teen Advisory Board. Teens will discuss how the library can serve their age group in terms of events, materials, and services. Participants will receive volunteer hours for attending.
